ISO certification in Pasig
Gap assessment, documentation update, training, internal audit and support through your transition audit, delivered end to end by our expert, experienced, professional and friendly local Filipino lead auditors.
Pasig is two cities in one boundary. West of Meralco Avenue it shares Ortigas Center with Mandaluyong and Quezon City, an office district where BPO floors, bank and conglomerate head offices and the Asian Development Bank sit inside a grid of more than a hundred hectares. Along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue (C-5), Ortigas Avenue Extension and the river barangays it keeps the factories, warehouses and distribution yards. Both halves buy certification: the towers because clients and regulators audit them, the C-5 belt because retailers and the city’s procurement ask for a certificate first.
Sterling International Consulting, a Philippine operation since 2009, supports Pasig organisations from its Makati head office, a short MRT-3 ride away, building the management system, training the people and running the internal audit; certification itself comes from an accredited certification body that the client chooses.
How the certification audit is organised in Pasig
Auditors come to Pasig from certification bodies’ Metro Manila offices, under UKAS, ANAB, JAS-ANZ, DAkkS or Philippine Accreditation Bureau accreditation. For an Ortigas tenant the plan usually pairs a remote document-review day with one or two on-site days; the auditor asks for the floor plan, the tenant’s own access-control records and the lease clauses on outsourced building services, which become supplier controls. For a C-5 warehouse or a Pinagbuhatan plant the on-site share rises, and the auditor looks at receiving, storage, racking inspections, DENR and city permits and the calibration of scales.
Ortigas Center, the C-5 belt and the river: Pasig’s economy by standard
Pasig had 853,050 residents in 2024 across 30 barangays; its commercial weight sits in a few districts.

Pasig City procurement and the other buyers who set requirements
Pasig’s Bids and Awards Committee is unusually visible. Since 2019 the city has admitted third-party monitors to its biddings and told bidders to strip out “friction costs”; the Inquirer reported savings of about PHP 415 million between 2019 and mid-2020. The BAC posts its annual procurement plan, bid opportunities and bid bulletins online and announces each opening of bids, now under the New Government Procurement Act (Republic Act 12009), whose rules took effect in February 2025. Suppliers to the city should read the government agencies guide; an ISO 37001 anti-bribery system answers a BAC that asks bidders how they prevent improper payments. The city government has worked from temporary premises in Bridgetowne, Rosario, since 2024 while a new city hall rises on the Caruncho Avenue site (groundbreaking October 2025, topping-off June 2026); contractors on city works are covered by the DPWH contractors guide.
Private buyers set the rest: overseas clients audit Ortigas BPO floors against ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 (see the BPO, IT and shared-services guide), and retail chains often ask C-5 suppliers and warehouse operators for ISO 9001.
ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026: what changes for Pasig firms
Since 16 September 2026 the current quality standard has been ISO 9001:2026, and the window for ISO 9001:2015 certificates closes on 30 September 2029; ISO 14001:2026 has been current since 15 April 2026, with its window closing on 30 April 2029. The ISO 9001:2026 transition hub, the ISO 14001:2026 hub and the free ISO 9001:2026 gap check explain what to change.
For Pasig the environmental edition bites first: sites in the river barangays and along C-5 must show that flood risk along the Pasig River has been weighed as a climate-related issue in their context and planning. On the quality side, the ISO 9001:2026 standard’s emphasis on quality culture lets Ortigas BPO operators turn existing coaching and quality-monitoring routines into audit evidence. The ISO 14001:2026 gap check and the gap-analysis tools are free.
Sterling’s delivery in Pasig
From Sterling’s office in Salcedo Village, MRT-3 runs from Buendia to Ortigas station in about nine minutes; by road, the EDSA trip that DPWH once put at an hour has an alternative over the BGC–Ortigas Link bridges (Sta. Monica–Lawton and Estrella–Pantaleon). For the river barangays, the MMDA’s Pasig River Ferry sails from Guadalupe in Makati to San Joaquin, Maybunga, Kalawaan and Pinagbuhatan, free as of February 2025, Monday to Saturday. The on-site and remote mix follows the evidence: mostly remote for Ortigas documentation, mostly on site for plants and warehouses.
Inside the Sterling OS™ system there are two ways to run the project: under Design™ the client’s own team writes the system with Sterling’s coaching and audit; under Drive™ Sterling does the writing, training and internal auditing. Sustain™ carries surveillance and recertification. The 40-hour lead auditor and internal auditor course (five days) is public in Makati or run at the client’s Pasig premises; see the training courses page.
Pasig clients are served by the Makati head office, led by Mark Santos, Lead Auditor, Lead Implementer and Trainer (The Valero Tower, Salcedo Village; +63 977 815 1204 mobile, +63 2 7624 7648 landline, info@iso-certification.ph). Cost and timeline drivers
Fees are set by headcount and processes in scope, the number of Pasig sites (an Ortigas office plus a C-5 depot doubles the audit sample), how many standards are integrated, whether a parent-company or ISO 9001:2015 system exists, and the audit days the certification body assigns. The cost guide and the ISO 9001:2026 transition cost page explain these.
Track record without names

Frequently asked questions about ISO certification in Pasig
Does bidding to Pasig City require an ISO certificate? The bidding documents for each project set the eligibility and technical requirements, and they vary; an ISO 9001 certificate is not a blanket legal requirement. What the city’s open biddings reward is a bidder that can evidence process control, documented quality and clean dealings, which is what an ISO 9001 and ISO 37001 system produces.
Which standard do overseas clients ask of a PEZA building tenant in Ortigas Center? Almost always ISO/IEC 27001, sometimes with SOC 2 for American clients and ISO 27701 when personal data is processed. ISO 9001 is added by clients who audit service quality as well as security; one integrated system with a single management review covers all of them.
How do Sterling consultants get to Pasig? By MRT-3 from Buendia to Ortigas station in about nine minutes, by road over the BGC–Ortigas Link bridges, or by the free MMDA river ferry from Guadalupe to the Pasig stations. Travel time is short, and sessions are timed to avoid the EDSA peaks.
We run a warehouse on C-5 supplying supermarket chains. Which certificate do they want? ISO 9001 is the usual condition for accreditation as a supplier, with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 added when the buyer’s sustainability or safety audit covers the depot. Food and beverage distributors are also asked for HACCP or ISO 22000 where products are temperature-sensitive.
Can an Ortigas head office and a Pinagbuhatan plant be on one certificate? Yes, as a multi-site scope. The certification body audits the head office and the plant, the certificate lists both addresses, and surveillance audits sample them. Sterling designs the system so the plant’s environmental and safety procedures sit beside the office’s quality and security controls without duplication.
Is the Rizal Medical Center or The Medical City accreditation the same as ISO? No. JCI accreditation and DOH licensing cover clinical quality and patient safety. ISO 9001, ISO 15189 for laboratories and ISO/IEC 27001 for records cover management processes, testing competence and information security; Pasig hospitals and their suppliers often hold them alongside.
