ISO certification in Makati

ISO 9001:2026 is published. Certified to ISO 9001:2015? Sterling makes your transition smooth, easy and successful.

Gap assessment, documentation update, training, internal audit and support through your transition audit, delivered end to end by our expert, experienced, professional and friendly local Filipino lead auditors.

Makati registered 86,370 business establishments in 2023, and most that ask Sterling about ISO certification sit inside the central business district: regional headquarters on Ayala Avenue, banks and financing companies answering to the Bangko Sentral and the SEC, shared-service centres in PEZA-registered IT buildings, and the law, accounting and consulting practices of Salcedo and Legazpi villages. The triggers are a parent company’s group certificate framework, a bank’s vendor-risk review before an outsourcing contract, or a tender that will not open without ISO 9001.

Sterling International Consulting has run its Philippine operation since 2009 from this district. The head office is in The Valero Tower on Valero Street, inside Salcedo Village, so a Makati engagement involves no travel: a Sterling lead auditor walks to the client’s floor and works through gap analysis, documentation and internal audit with the client’s staff. Sterling implements and prepares; the certificate is issued by the accredited body the client selects.

Where Makati’s demand for certification comes from

The city’s 2023 facts and figures count 4,798 banks and finance-related institutions, 44 operating PEZA-registered IT buildings, 43 embassies and 22 consulates.

Regulators, buyers and tenders with Makati addresses

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s head office is at 7907 Makati Avenue in Barangay Bel-Air; it supervises corporations, capital markets and financing and lending companies, whose funders ask for ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001. Banks work under BSP Circular No. 982 of 2017, the Enhanced Guidelines on Information Security Management, which requires an information security risk-management framework; ISO/IEC 27001 is the usual way to show it to examiners, and banks push the same expectation down to their Makati-based vendors.

The Philippine Stock Exchange left Ayala Avenue for Bonifacio Global City in 2018, but listed companies and fund managers still keep head offices here. The city government publishes invitations to bid and bid results on its portal under the New Government Procurement Act (Republic Act 12009), whose implementing rules were published in February 2025. Suppliers to the city or national agencies should read the government agencies guide; contractors building CBD towers, the DPWH contractors guide.

How a certification audit runs in the Makati CBD

Certification bodies accredited by UKAS, ANAB, JAS-ANZ or DAkkS, or by the Philippine Accreditation Bureau, serve Makati from Metro Manila offices, and two of them list Makati addresses on their own websites: SGS Philippines at 2229 Chino Roces Avenue and TÜV Rheinland Philippines at 2291 Chino Roces Avenue, Magallanes. Sterling works with whichever accredited body the client appoints.

Where a tower requires visitor pre-registration, auditor names go to reception a day ahead, and on multi-tenant floors the auditor tests physical-access evidence at the client’s own door, not the lobby. Most Makati clients are head offices with branches, so the audit is a multi-site sample: the head office is visited every cycle, branches are sampled, and sampled-branch records are often reviewed by screen-sharing.

Sterling’s delivery from Salcedo Village

Salcedo Village is bounded by Gil Puyat Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue, with walkways to the Ayala Avenue towers and the MRT-3 Ayala and Buendia stations. A Sterling consultant reaches a CBD client on foot and Rockwell, Century City, Circuit Makati or Chino Roces Avenue by a short taxi ride, so Makati engagements run mostly on site.

The engagement follows the Sterling OS™ delivery system: Design™ is guided, for a company whose compliance officer will own the system with Sterling’s coaching; Drive™ is fully managed, with Sterling’s team drafting, training and auditing while the client’s managers approve; Sustain™ keeps internal audits, management reviews and surveillance preparation on schedule afterwards. Makati hosts the public 40-hour lead auditor and internal auditor courses (five days), and the same course can be held in-house; dates are on the training courses page.

The local contact route is the Makati head office, led by Mark Santos, Lead Auditor, Lead Implementer and Trainer, at Suite C, 8th Floor, The Valero Tower, 122 Valero Street in Salcedo Village, Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City 1227; phone +63 977 815 1204 (mobile) and +63 2 7624 7648 (landline); email info@iso-certification.ph. ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026 for Makati organisations

ISO 9001:2026 is the sixth edition; its publication date is 16 September 2026 and the period for transitioning ISO 9001:2015 certificates ends on 30 September 2029. For ISO 14001:2026 the dates are 15 April 2026 and 30 April 2029. Details: ISO 9001:2026 hub, ISO 14001:2026 hub.

Shared-service centres and professional firms will be asked for evidence of quality culture and ethical behaviour under the ISO 9001:2026 standard, usually a code of conduct, a whistle-blowing channel and shift-level quality reviews that exist already and need linking to the system. Building operators holding ISO 14001 will need to show that climate-related risks to a high-rise portfolio have been considered. The free ISO 14001:2026 gap check and the gap-analysis tools for 20 standards show where a system stands before any consultant is engaged.

What moves cost and timeline in Makati

Effort here is driven by headcount in scope, the number of sites, including provincial branches, the number of standards combined into one system, the maturity of what already exists (a subsidiary of a certified parent often has group procedures to localise) and the audit days quoted by the certification body. Travel time is negligible. The cost guide and the ISO 9001:2026 transition cost page walk through each factor.

Evidence rather than claims

Book a comprehensive gap analysis, mobile +63 977 815 1204 or landline +63 2 7624 7648; the first meeting is held at your Makati office.

Frequently asked questions about ISO certification in Makati

Does PEZA registration of our Ayala Avenue building change the certification scope? No. PEZA registration governs incentives and locator reporting, not the management-system scope. The certificate covers the processes and floors you define, and the auditor checks that the physical-security boundary matches that definition. Building-management controls support your case but do not replace your own.

Which standard do funders expect from an SEC-supervised lending company in Makati? Most often ISO/IEC 27001, because it demonstrates the information-security controls that partner banks themselves must maintain under BSP Circular 982. ISO 9001 is added when the funder also wants evidence of complaint handling and process control; both can be certified in one audit cycle.

Where does Sterling work from for Makati engagements? From the head office in The Valero Tower in Salcedo Village, so CBD clients are reached on foot and the rest of the city by a short taxi ride. Fees depend on scope, sites and standards, and the on-site share of the work is higher here than anywhere else Sterling serves.

How is a head office in Makati with branches in the provinces audited? The certification body treats it as a multi-site scope: the Makati head office is visited every year, branches are sampled by a published rule, and sampled-branch records are often reviewed by screen-sharing. Sterling briefs the sampled branches in advance so their people and records are ready.

Which certification bodies have offices in Makati? SGS Philippines lists an office and laboratory at 2229 Chino Roces Avenue, and TÜV Rheinland Philippines is at 2291 Chino Roces Avenue in Magallanes. Other accredited bodies audit Makati from elsewhere in Metro Manila; Sterling prepares you for whichever you choose.

Can lead auditor training be held at our Makati office? Yes. Sterling’s internal auditor and lead auditor training (five days, 40 hours) is offered as a public course in Makati and as an in-house course at the client’s premises, using the client’s own procedures as case material so that trained auditors leave with a first internal audit planned.
