How to get ISO 55001:2014 certification
If you want to get ISO 55001:2014 certification, your company will need to be reassessed every three years. The certification is valid for five years. To receive certification, a company will need to demonstrate conformance with the requirements of the standard against a set of criteria in four key areas. These are Organization Management, Safety Planning and Workplace Environmental Management (SPEM), Occupational Health and Hygiene Management System (OHSMS) and Asset Management.
Benefits of an assets management system
Implementing an assets management system can help to increase efficiency and prevent errors. It’s easiest for an organization to put together a systematic approach if they have a clear plan of what they want from an assets management system. If a company is not sure of how best to put together their assets management system, the ISO 55001:2014 certification is an excellent starting point.
Why an ISO 55001 is needed
The ISO 55001:2014 Certification is an upgrade from the previous published standard, ISO 55001:2011. The new edition outlines what a management system should do for its clientele, which includes both internal and external stakeholders. The system should be committed to continual improvement and monitoring in order to maintain quality standards.
